Delta State plants tree to celebrate National Arbor Day

From left: Dr. Luther Brown, director of Delta State University Delta Center for Culture and Learning; Dorothy Shawhan, professor emeritus of English; Linda Smith, director of Facilities Management; Lee Aylward, of the Delta Center for Culture and Learning; Dr. Nina Baghai-Riding associate professor of biology; and Mark Ponder, chair of City Beautification Committee and the Cleveland Tree Board, put the finishing touches on planting a tree in honor of National Arbor Day.

In celebration of National Arbor Day and in anticipation of having the Delta State campus become a part of Tree Campus USA, the Cleveland Tree Board in conjunction with the Year of Green Committee planted a Texas Red Oak at the southwest corner of the Delta Music Institute.
