Delta State choirs to present annual holiday concert

The Delta State University choirs will present their Holiday Concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cleveland.  

During this fun and festive celebration, the Chamber Singers, Chorale, and Delta Singers will present a variety of traditional and contemporary carols, including music by ElizaBeth Beckham, Anton Bruckner, Harold Darke, Stephen Paulus, Tomas Luis de Victoria, and David Willcocks.

The choirs are under the direction of Dr. Richard Waters, director of choral activities, and Andy Beasley, a senior voice major from Brandon, and will be accompanied by Robin Passer Washington from Cleveland, Christopher Winston, a junior piano and voice major from Daphne, Ala., Dr. Kumiko Shimizu, assistant professor of music, and Dr. Mark Butler, professor of music.

Pre-concert holiday music will be provided by the Delta State Flute Ensemble, led by Dr. Shelley Collins, assistant professor of music, and the Delta Low Brass Ensemble, led by Dr. Douglas Mark, assistant professor of music.
