Piano duo recital to be presented at Delta State

Guest pianist Jungwon Anne Shin makes a return visit to Delta State University for a piano duo recital with Jung-Won Shin, assistant professor of music at Delta State. 

The piano duo recital will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 18, in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

The recital will feature works for two pianos by Mozart, Chopin, Ravel, and Youngchae Kim. 

As a recitalist, Jungwon Anne Shin has performed at Hubbard Recital Hall and Pforzeimer Recital Hall in New York City’s Seoul Arts Center, KAIST Hall, Expo Arts Hall, Daejeon Arts Center, and Daedeok Cultural Center. She was invited to perform at the Spring Festival of Daejeon Arts Center for its celebration of re-opening. In 2007 she was invited to perform at the Hungary Siofok International Master Course. Shin also performs chamber music frequently. 

Her performances have been broadcast on TV such as TJB, KBS, MBC and CMB in Korea. Shin has performed as a soloist with several orchestras such as the Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, the Janacek Chamber Orchestra, the Eurasian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rumanian State Orchestra, and the CMB Orchestra.

Shin received a Master of Music degree in piano from the Manhattan School of Music in New York and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in piano from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Shin currently teaches at her private studio in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She is a member of the Piano Harmonia, Pi Kappa Lambda, Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and Crescendo Music Festivals.
