By October 26, 2010General

Chamber Singers and Chorale The Delta State University Department of Music will present its fall choir concert, featuring the Chamber Singers and Chorale at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, in the Atrium of Kent Wyatt Hall.

“The reverberant acoustics of Kent Wyatt Hall are perfect for choral singing,” explained Dr. Richard Waters, Director of Choral Activities at Delta State. “It is like singing in any of the great cathedrals in Europe. We have done some of our recordings in there, and are delighted to be able to present a live concert in this unique setting.”

The program of all-unaccompanied music will feature compositions by Eric Barnum, Ola Gjeilo, Hall Johnson, Felix Mendelssohn, Charles Villiers Stanford, Thomas Tallis, Thomas Weelkes, and Eric Whitacre.

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Dr. Waters at rwaters@deltastate.edu or call 662-846-4115.
