Delta State’s First Tuesday presenter to talk barbecue

The Delta State University Department of Art will present Amy Evans Streeter, artist/oral historian from Oxford, in a First Tuesday presentation on her Southern Foodways Alliance Oral History Project entitled “The Barbecue Trail,” from noon-1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, in the Howarth Seminar Room of the Capps Archives and Museum.

The lecture coincides with the museum’s exhibit, BBQ Joints: Stories and Secret Recipes from the Barbeque Belt.

Those attending may bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee will be provided.

First Tuesday is sponsored by the Art Department and the First Tuesday Committee and is scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month during fall and spring semesters. First Tuesday features lectures, readings, and presentations representing diverse perspectives in the arts and humanities.
