Workshop participants visit Hebrew Union Temple in Greenville

Participants in the July workshop titled “The Most Southern Place:  Music, Culture and History of the Mississippi Delta” recently visited the Hebrew Union Temple in Greenville as part of their exploration of the Delta’s religious heritage. 

 

The group was welcomed by Temple congregation members Ben Nelkin, Richard Dattel, and Julia Levingston.

 

The workshop, sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities,  was presented by Delta State University Delta Center for Culture and Learning. 

 

Workshop participants came from 19 states plus Saipan, a US territory.  The US State Department also sent three international participants from Bangladesh, Turkey and Brazil.
