Delta State fashion students win awards at Dallas Career Day

Two Delta State University fashion merchandising students from the Division of Family of Consumer Sciences in the College of Education recently won awards in the annual Fiber Trend Board Competition at the Dallas Fashion Career Day.

 
Georgia Wilson Tindall (left) senior of Clarksdale and Indianola, won first place in the wool category and Daphne White (right) junior from Cleveland, won third place in the cotton category.
 
They are pictured with Dr. Jan Haynes, professor of Fashion Merchandising, who received a Delta State Instructional Technology ChallengeGrant to help students incorporate PhotoShop technology into trend board development. The original winning poster size trend boards are kept by the Texas Department of Agriculture to promote the natural fibers in fashion.
