The Delta State University Department of Music will present Dr. Shelley Collins and Dr. Keith Pettway in a faculty flute recital Thursday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Bologna Performing Arts Center.
Joining Collins and Pettway will be Dr. Jung-Won Shin, piano, and Dr. Bret Pimentel, bassoon.
The recital will begin with Joseph Haydn’s “London Trio,” a charming piece written while the composer was visiting England. Other works will include the Cimarosa “Concerto for Two Flutes” and Robert Muczynski’s “Duos for Flutes.”
The program will conclude with an entertaining and virtuosic showpiece, “Duo Brilliant on Themes from William Tell.”
Collins is assistant professor of flute and music history, and Pettway is professor emeritus of flute.
