Byrd and Miller represent Delta State at HEADWAE

Delta State University Instructor of Computer Information Systems Lynn Byrd, of Charleston, and Taylor Miller, Delta State senior political science major and Student Government Association president from Duncan, represented Delta State University at the 23nd Annual Higher Education Appreciation Day/Working for Academic Excellence (HEADWAE) awards luncheon in Jackson.

 

Outstanding students and faculty members representing 35 Mississippi public and private universities and colleges received special recognition from the Mississippi Legislature on Wednesday, Feb. 24, and attended an awards luncheon at the Mississippi Convention Center. Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Hank Bounds delivered the luncheon keynote address. Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant, chair of HEADWAE, served as Master of Ceremonies.
 
HEADWAE was established in 1988 by the Legislature to honor the academic achievement of individuals and the overall contribution of the state’s public and private institutions of higher learning.
