The Dean’s College of Business Student Advisory Council (BSAC) at Delta State University launched a four day Canned Food Drive Nov. 16-19.

A competition raged between students, faculty, and staff to see which department could collect the most food.

In this short four day time period, the College of Business collected 1,809 cans of food with the Commercial Aviation department, in partnership with the airport, taking the first prize with collections totaling 885 cans.

The Accounting, CIS, and Finance department placed second with 733 cans.

Audrie Rhoda, BSAC President, remarked “This was a huge success and I thank all the students, faculty, and staff who made this possible.”

The food collected from the drive will be distributed to needy families during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

The College of Business Student Advisory Council hopes to make this an annual event.
