The Delta State University Archives and Museum invites the public to “Behind the Scenes with H.C. Porter and Karole Sessums and Book Signing,” a part of the “Backyards and Beyond” exhibit and programming.  The opening for the exhibit will be held, Nov. 15th, at 2:30 p.m. in the Charles W. Capps, Jr. Archives & Museum Building on the campus.

During this event, the artists, HC Porter and Karole Sessums, will share personal details and insights about selected paintings, the behind the scenes of creation of the exhibition, the stories behind the subjects, and a personal understanding of the portraits. Porter and Sessums will also be available to sign copies of their book, which is available for purchase through the Delta State University bookstore prior to the event, and will be available for purchase in the Archives during the event on Sunday.

The exhibit has been open to the public for only a week and already it has attracted several college classes and the general public.  The exhibit will be on display through Jan. 31, 2010.
