Cleveland Summer Band concert to be presented at Delta State

The Cleveland Summer Concert Band, directed by Delta State University Director of Bands Dr. John Wojcik, will perform in concert on Tuesday, June 30, at 6 p.m. in the Jacob Conference Center ofJames M. Ewing Hall on the campus. 

 
The band has been rehearsing on Tuesday evenings during June and the membership consists of junior high school students to adults.
 
The concert will feature a variety of pieces from classical to popular that will include “Declaration Overture” by Claude T. Smith, “Prelude and Fugue in B-flat Major” by J. S. Bach, arranged by Roland Moehlmann, “Heaven’s Light” by Steven Reineke, “Clash of the Ironclads” by James Hosay, a medley of tunes from “Phantom of the Opera” in an arrangement by Michael Sweeney and the ever popular march, “Circus Days” by Karl King. 
 
Cleveland’s own Denton’s ice cream will be served beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a small fee and the treat can be enjoyed during the concert.
 
The concert is free and open to the public.
