Delta State choirs to present spring concert

Delta State University’s Department of Music will present its spring choir concert featuring the Chamber Singers, Chorale, and Delta Singers on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Delta and Pine Land Theatre of the Bologna Performing Arts Center on campus.
 
The choirs are under the direction of Dr. Richard Waters, director of choral activities at Delta State. 
 
Chamber Singers will celebrate Mendelssohn’s 200th birthday by singing several of his unaccompanied choral compositions. 
 
The Delta Singers will perform music composed for choir, piano, and a variety of different solo instruments.  Guest performers will include music faculty members Dr. Andrea Cheeseman, clarinet, Dr. Shelly Collins, flute, Ms. Anne-Gaëlle Ravetto, violin, and Dr. Paul Hankins and Dr. John Wojcik, trumpets. 
 
The Chorale will present Glenn McClure’s “St. Francis in the Americas: A Caribbean Mass.”  They will be joined by the Delta State University Steel Band, under the direction of Dr. Larry Bradford.
