Delta State’s Small Business Center to offer free workshops

Delta State University’s Small Business Development Center, which assists small business owners with their start-up and expansion needs, will offer free small business workshops in the Delta area during the months of January, February and March 2009.

 
Registration is required for all the workshops.
 
Small Business Primer – Cleveland This workshop will assist you with the steps necessary to start your own business. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 10 a.m. – noon in Broom Hall Room 271 Delta State University. 
 
Small Business Primer – Mayersville This workshop will assist you with the steps necessary to start your own business. The workshop will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Mayersville Multi-Purpose Building at 132 Court Street in Mayersville.
 
How to Get the Most with Your Advertising Dollar – Belzoni – This is a workshop designed to assist you with where and what to spend money on when advertising. The workshop will be held on Thursday, Jan. 15, from 6- 8 p.m.at the Guaranty Bank Conference Center at 105 Jackson Street in Belzoni.
 
WebBiz I and WebBiz II – Clarksdale – This is a two-part workshop to be held on two consecutive Saturdays. These workshops will introduce participants to key web hosting sites, applications and design techniques required to establish and maintain their own small business websites. The fee is $50 per person which includes both workshops. The workshops will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 14 from 9 a.m.- noon at the Carnegie Public Library at 114 Delta Avenue in Clarksdale. 
 
Developing a Business Plan – Cleveland –This workshop is designed to assist with building a business plan that can be used for financing purposes. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m.- noon in Broom Hall Room 271 at Delta State University.  
 
What The Banker Wants – Tunica –This workshop is designed to inform entrepreneurs what items are required before the banker will review a small business loan. The workshop will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 3-5 p.m. at the G.W. Henderson Recreation Center at 1165 Abbay Street in Tunica.
 
What The Banker Wants – Greenville –This workshop is designed to inform entrepreneurs what items are required before the banker will review a small business loan. The workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 17 from noon – 1 p.m. at the Greenville Higher Education Center at 2900 Hwy 1 S. # A in Greenville.
 
Small Business Primer – Cleveland –This workshop will assist you with the steps necessary to start your own business. The workshop will be held Thursday, March 26, from 6-8 p.m. in Broom Hall Room 271 at Delta State University.
