Help Desk Cases

You should always receive an email confirmation from our online help desk, Help Desk Online (HDO) system whenever a request is opened for services. This email confirmation should come to either yourself or the person for whom the case is created. If you do not receive such an email shortly after your call to the Help Desk, please let us know so that we can make sure your case is indeed in the system and that we have your correct email address. We appreciate your help!

OIT Equipment Loans

When planning events on campus that require the usage of technology, please remember that any requests for media equipment should be submitted as far in advance as possible. OIT has a limited number of technology items on hand, and they are available on a first come, first serve basis. Making your reservation as far in advance as possible helps to make sure the equipment you need is reserved for your event. Remember, only employees of Delta State are authorized to checkout media equipment. OIT cannot loan equipment to students without authorization from their campus sponsor. For more information on media loans, see Media Services.

Backup your Data!!

There are many ways you can unintentionally lose information on a computer. Oftentimes, there is nothing that can be done in the event of a true hardware failure in the event you have not made a recent backup of your system. A rule of thumb is that you keep your documents backed up on either a USB flash drive, external drive, or on CD/ DVD media. These devices are fairly inexpensive and allow you to maintain a current backup of your information at all times. Imation makes a great series of USB flash drives that have proven reliable over time. You can purchase these devices at the campus bookstore, Wal-Mart, Radio Shack or from a number of online vendors. If you are a faculty or staff member and you need recommendations on the best method to back up your data, please contact the Help Desk @4444.

In this article, we will take a look at the basic technology behind cookies, as well as some of the features they enable.
