Banner Implementations

The Banner 7 upgrade project team moving forward with the planning and implementation scheduling for the Banner 7 upgrade this summer.  The projected date of the system upgrade is July 15th. More information will be availible in the near future about a test instance of Banner 7 for end users to test and explore the new version.

There are many events occurring with the Banner implementation here at DSU.  OIT appreciates your understanding and willingness to help with these upgrades and new deployments.  Your patience is tremendously appreciated.  OIT will communicate the details as soon as the details become available.

Spyware protection

Windows Defender (Beta 2) is a free program that helps protect your computer against pop-ups, slow performance, and security threats caused by spyware and other unwanted software. It features Real-Time Protection, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected, and a new streamlined interface that minimizes interruptions and helps you stay productive.

Project Update:
TLC Workshops for Faculty

The Technology Learning Center is offering 16 WebCT Course Builder workshops and 10 Instructional Technology workshops. All training sessions will be held in the Technology Learning Center 's Faculty Training Lab which is located on the second floor of Ewing , room 230.

To better meet the needs of Delta State's Instructors, we have added 9 more WebCT Course Builder workshops and arranged our WebCT workshops into two tracks: Jumpstart for beginners or novice WebCT instructors and Refresher for repeating or advanced WebCT instructors.

In addition to the original workshops offered throughout 2005, 5 new workshops are included in the Instructional Technology Workshop series. This series now covers these additional topics: Image Editing and Manipulation, Preparing Web-Ready Documents, Web Design with FrontPage I and II for use in WebCT, and MS Outlook Scheduling.
