Faculty and Staff Email, Web Site, & Banner Accounts

These accounts may be requested using the all inclusive Account Application Form.  Once completed, the form must be returned to our office either by hand delivery or via campus mail.

Accounts are created as quickly as possible, and once created you will be contacted to pick up your account and login credentials.  If you have new employees that have joined your office, you must complete this documentation in order to have accounts created.

If you had employees depart the University in December, please notify the OIT offices immediately so that account access may be terminated for those individuals.

Internet Connectivity FAQ’s

Residential Halls Internet Connectivity - All residence halls, with the exception of Hill and Cafeteria apartments, have Ethernet connections in the rooms with one port per pillow.  To connect to the network, you need an Ethernet cable (this can be purchased at local stores or the campus bookstore) and your computer.  The Ethernet jack is slightly larger than the phone jack in the room.  Simply connect your computer with the accompanying cable to the appropriate jack.

Once connected, you will be required to complete the Cisco Clean Access process to connect to the University network.  Follow the instructions on the link above, and make sure to use your 900# Student ID number as your login!  If you have problems, please call the OIT Help Desk @4444.

Residential Computer Labs -Most residential halls include computer labs that can be used by authorized students.  These facilities are under the supervision of Resident Life.  See your RA for more information.

Wireless - Wireless internet access is available for the vast majority of campus. The SSID (wireless connection name) is OKRAnet, which should appear once your wireless connection is switched on.  OKRAnet is the campus' secure wireless network that is available for the family housing community and multiple areas of the campus. In order to access OKRAnet, you must authenticate via Cisco Clean Access using your given username and password.  Faculty and Staff should use their Microsoft Active Directory credentials and students should use their 900# (the same information used to login to DSU Online Services)  For more info and instructions, click here.  For dates and times for hands-on assistance, click here.

Wireless device, Game Console Network Registration -If you own an Apple iPhone, Windows Mobile device with Wi-Fi, Xbox, Xbox360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3 or a Nintindo Wii and would like to be able to use it on the Delta State network, you will need to register it with OIT. To access registration form, click here.
