This Delta:
Photographs by Debra L Ferguson

 

Through the lens of her camera, Ferguson has captured a sense of the Mississippi Delta with sincerity and stark reality.  Where the photograph is worth 1000 words, morsels of Mississippi literature shore up the wandering thoughts of a visitor.  Our goal is to show the Delta, to read the Delta and to remember the Delta while encouraging each visitor to consider their own story and piece of history connected to this place. 

 

We are excited to be able to offer another layer of experience to this exhibit!  While visitors stand in front of each panel, you now have the option of following along with Debra Ferguson as she explains the panel’s concept and the images selected for each panel.  By following the link noted at the base of each panel (www.thisdelta.com), you can explore more about the images, read further excerpts from the authors presented on the panels and engage with the exhibit on a deeper level.  For quick reference, each panel is accessible at the links provided here:
