Tracking the Success of Delta State University Graduates

The method to track graduates from Delta State University is an ongoing initiative that is part of the universities strategic plan 2009-2014 and seeks to actively engage Goal five of Delta State’s strategic plan.

Goal 5: Improve the quality of life for all constituents:

Improving its image and impact, DSU will increase and enhance outreach, service, and partnership initiatives, in the region and beyond.

In order to track success of our students Delta State University has partnered with the National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (nSPARC), Mississippi State University and Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning to complete a yearly evaluation of DSU graduates. The effort is a continuing basis and is housed through the Office of Institutional Research and Planning at Delta State University. The project is a direct initiative from the President and Vice President of Academic Affairs in which the university recognizes the importance of tracking the success of all students on-campus and those who have received a degree from the institution.

The limits to this study are based on the fact that nSPARC can only obtain employment data for the state of Mississippi and those students as reported by said institution to the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning.
