Academic Support Classes
|Spring 2012 CED 099|
Delta State University offers study skills classes each fall and spring semester.
Although these classes do not satisfy general education requirements, they are open to the entire student body.
|Section 01||8 am – 9:15 am|
|Section 02||9:25 am – 10:40 am|
|Section 03||10:50 am – 12:05 pm|
Entering freshmen who are admitted to Delta State University with scores of 16 or below on the ACT math, reading, and/or English sub tests are required to enroll in developmental courses in their deficient subject areas.
Students who are required to take two or more developmental classes must also enroll in the year-long Academic Support classes, CED 098 in the fall and CED 099 in the spring. The curriculum for these classes includes instruction in goal setting, time management, study skills, and reading comprehension. Additional time is spent on academic advising, career counseling, and personal issues which college freshmen may encounter. The program is designed to assist students with the transition to college-level work and equip them with the skills and attitudes necessary for the achievement of their academic, career, and life goals.
